In a thrilling and spectacular conclusion to the 2009 campaign, SARAH MEI from Kent scooped the Top Model UK title.
In a tightly choreographed fashion spectacular, Sarah beat off her closest rivals with a faultless runway display.
Her performance crowned an amazing six-months for Sarah, having qualified for her Grand Final place through UK Oriental model search 'Catwalk Live', also her Grand Final sponsors.
Head Judge Julie-Anne Deville of FAM International agency, Paris, said after the announcements, "It was an amazing show and the standard of the girls was so high it made the decisions extremely difficult." She added, "All of the girls looked stunning, but it was Sarah's runway performance that ultimately swung it in her favour".
Sarah will have very little time to get her feet back on the ground. She has already visited the offices of top London model agency Impact Model Management to sign her contracts, and FAM International (Paris) have booked her for a one-month stay in Paris for Paris Fashion Week in September, plus a fortnight in June for photoshoots and castings. In addition, plans are being finalised for her runway trip to Valencia with top designer JavierYJavier, and Impact Model Management have also lined up photoshoots with a number of leading photographers.
In addition to the main runway show, immaculate live performances by girl band 'Stonefoxx', Soul singer 'Nathalie Miranda' and operatic soprano 'Celena Bridge' made Miss Top Model UK 2009 a true night to remember.
Show Director Geoff Cox added, "It was a superb night and in so many ways. Breathtaking!"
The much coveted 'Public Text Vote' award was won by Ireland's sole representative, Michaela from County Tyrone, and the youngest finalist, 15 year old Christine from East Sussex won the Impact Model Management 'Commercial Model' award.
